Attack at the Samsung Cathedral

A project developed in Juliette Bibasse and Joanie Lemercier's Elisava workshop. We had to project with light an argument, something critical or related to activism. In this case Ignasi Monfort, Adri Pascual and myself Maties, decided to project in the Cathedral of Barcelona.

The reason, as can be seen in the photos, is that the cathedral was being renovated and on the mantle covering the renovations they had placed a Samsung advert. Our format was simple, with a laser we projected the mythical youtube message when you are going to skip an advert, 5 seconds of countdown and "skip ad".

It was a rewarding project, people passing through the area were saying: "Finally", "Please yes", "we have to click, come on!

The advertisement was eventually removed 1 week later. We were not the only project opposing it, other designers created an Instagram filter to remove the ad, and others put up photos around the cathedral of how it used to be before.
