Cedia is a wooden chair constructed solely of 1 cm plywood through perpendicular fittings. It does not contain any type of glue or screws.
Sketches theorising the idea of empty spaces to reduce weight, maintain stability and enhance uniqueness.
The structure is based on three concepts. Each one is supported by the previous one, providing strength and stability. The first element are the sides. Working as the main legs, These are fitted into the second element, the seat, which is made from planks spaced at just the right distance to avoid uncomfortable pressure points. Finally, the structure is completed by the backrest, unattached it rests on the sides to give it the necessary firmness.
Cedia is light, stable and easy to assemble. Only to build it you need two 1200 x 600 mm plywood sheets.
